Ken is from Sweden. He is building a Krell KSA50 clone. I am sure he has made other things becauase of the professional way this one turned out.
Here is a top view.
As you can see, Ken has included the following features
- dual mono power transformers mounted vertically somewhat like the original Krell
- four very large capactors for power supply filtering
- vertical heatsink as in the original krell
I believe the the extra board you see vertically mounted on the left is a soft start board.
Hey what's this? Looks like a CPU fan controller! Brilliant! I also see a metal shielding plate between the transformers and the circuitry, with nice, neat Euro-type high current terminal strips for the wires. Very impressive.
This is a very nice amp!
A rear view
The boys over at diyaudio.com had a bunch of "badges" made for these Krell clones, Ken has one on his amp. (pic?).
This amp also has very nice wood side panels, which add a touch of class (in my opinion) to the amp, it makes it look warmer and more natural.
Anyway, nice work Ken!
